Managing Director Jamie Pirie originally hails from Mingenew WA, where he worked on a 15,000 acre wheat and sheep farm. He spent the next 14 years in the mining industry at Meekatharra and Kalgoorlie. Jamie held technical hands-on roles within the processing department and worked his way up to Mill Foreman. Following 10 years of great success in senior management roles within the recruitment industry, Jamie started his own company.
His unique combination of industry knowledge, hands-on operational experience and management know-how has driven first Steel Cap, and now Merge’s rise as a successful recruitment and labour hire operation. Jamie has plans for continued expansion across all states in Australia, as well as internationally. When he’s not working, Jamie likes to spend time with his kids and family, play tennis and golf, and do charity work at the local soup kitchen.

Business Manager Nick Sutton is originally from Manchester in the UK. He emigrated to Perth in 2005, and is now an Aussie Citizen. Nick has more than 25 years experience in the workforce solutions industry, working with clients in the energy, resources, and construction industries. He has provided client support for blue collar through to white collar solutions, worked as a Regional Director looking after the ANZ region for a large multinational, and more recently worked in an International Development role helping a company with its expansion around the globe.
As Business Manager at Merge, Nick looks after both branches of the business. He also plans and develops expansion of the company and brand into other states and new markets.
Nick is passionate about ensuring the mental fitness of people he works with, as it is something that is overlooked by many companies.
“I feel this gives us a unique and innovative service offering to clients that is a new fresh approach to a tired market that is crying out for change,” he said.
When he’s not working, Nick can be found coaching an U14s NPL team, playing vets soccer, cooking for the family and walking the dog.
